Eighteen Sound XR1464C

The Eighteen Sound XR1464C is a 1.4-inch throat constant directivity horn. It achieves optimal performance when paired with Eighteen Sound compression drivers with 1.4-inch throat output.
All the horns of the XR series generate a uniform frequency response of the driver, to maintain constant coverage and directivity. Furthermore, this horn has very low distortion even when working with high sound pressures.

The XR1464C maintains a nominal coverage value of 60 ° x 40 ° (H x V). It provides a coherent frequency response in axis and off axis, from 1200 Hz to 16 kHz, in both dispersion planes. Furthermore, its cutoff frequency is 800 Hz and the directivity of the horn is constant up to 1.2 kHz.

From a mechanical point of view, this horn offers the answer to two different problems with a single solution. On the one hand, in fact, the material used for the construction is a mixture of composite material with high damping, which reduces unwanted resonances and vibrations. On the other hand, moreover, thanks to the same material, the weight of the horn (just 1.4 kg) is very low, optimizing the portability of the speakers that host it.
